  • Demonstration of SRI (Systems of Rice Intensification) technologies.
  • Introduction of Shalimar Rice-4 in lower belts of the district.
  • Introduction of Shalimar Rice 2 (SR-2).
  • Introduction of Shalimar Rice 3 (SR-3).
  • Popularization of Wheat-fodder maize rotation systems in upper areas of the   district for improving food and fodder production and increasing cropping intensity.
  • Introduction of Kharif fodder crops (Sorghum and Fodder cowpea) in upper areas of the district.
  • Popularization of Kharif Pulses (Shalimar moong-1 & Shalimar Cowpea-1).
  • Introduction of Sunflower as contingency crop in dry land areas of the district.
  • Introduction of Maize composites cum hybrids (C-15, C-8, C-6, SMC-4, KDM-DTM-1, Shalimar hybrid-2).
  • Demonstration and popularizing the significance of Sulphur in Brown Sarson to enhance oil percentage.
  • Demonstration of Sulphur application to increase the shelf life of Onion crop.
  • Demonstration of scientific cultivation practices in Buck wheat in Gurez valley.
  • Demonstration of offseason vegetable cultivation in Gurez valley.
  • Demonstration of scientific cultivation practices of Pran in village Bothu of the district.

 1) B.     Spread of technologies in large area :

1)      Percentage of adoption:

  • After the introduction of Jhelum variety of Paddy in the year 2007 by the Kendra, the Jhelum variety of Paddy is now under cultivation in 77 villages of the district covering more than five thousand hectares.
  • The Sabzaar Variety of Oats introduced in the year 2008 by the Kendra and is now under cultivation in 44 villages of the district covering around 1400 hectares.
  • Introduction and popularization of SKUAST-Kashmir released vegetable varieties in 33 villages of the district.
